For the last year I’ve had pain in my wrist. I’ve been to the doctor three times, had two lots of x-rays, and seen orthopaedic specialists twice.
But nobody really knew what the problem was.
It might be work related (some kind of repetitive injury based on all the time I spend in front of a computer)
It might be because I got hit with a cricket ball last year
It could be nothing
They didn’t want to inject me with steroids without knowing what the actual problem was, so the wrist specialist booked me in for an MRI scan.
This morning I drove in to Taunton, got changed into hospital clothes (first time ever. what can I say, they looked great), and spent 40 minutes inside a strange tube in a “Superman” position. I was lying on my stomach, arm out in front of me. For 40 minutes. Completely still. In a strange enclosed tube. For 40 minutes.
But at least I got to listen to Radiohead.

They did a whole heap of scans, and hopefully managed to take some good pictures of the problem area.
The specialist thinks that it could be a very tiny ganglion cyst. Whatever the case, the scan should show up any problems, and we can work on treatment from there.
Fingers crossed that in a month or so it will be comfortable again to ride my bike and lift weights.
