On Monday night Sherry and I went to the Brewhouse Theatre in Taunton. It had been a while since we’d seen a live performance of anything (I think the last time was possibly when we saw Avenue Q in London last year), and it was great to get out and see some live comedy.

The show was Punt and Dennis – The Stuff and Nonsense Tour. I didn’t really know Steve Punt, but Hugh Dennis is very familiar from Mock the Week and I was really looking forward to seeing him in person.

The show started with Hugh Dennis doing his famous raptor impression, and it was easily the best raptor impression I’d seen all year. There were a few slow bits during the show, but I laughed through most of it, and the last bit, with a “drunk” Dennis pointing and shouting at a map of the UK was brilliant.

It was a good night, and I’m now really excited about seeing Andy Parsons in November.

Sometimes, when I’m bored, or when I’m avoiding work, I like to read various web comics. Here are a few that I think are worth reading in full – from the first comic, all the way to the most recent – preferably in one sitting!

Cyanide and Happiness

It’s completely messed up, but utterly hilarious.

Cyanide and Happiness

xkcd

“A webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math and language.” Need I say more?

xkcd

Home On The Strange

I only discovered this a couple of weeks ago. Lots of Buffy. :>

Home on the Strange

The Perry Bible Fellowship

There are some really awesome ones here.

PBFComics

Boy on a Stick and Slither

A snake and a head on a stick. Honest, it’s good!

BoaSaS

Zits

One that was actually in the newspapers in Adelaide. I read through the whole archive while I was writing my final year report for University. Good times.

Zits

The Parking Lot is Full

This one is pretty messed up too, but I love it. “The picture of Sid Vicious that (briefly) ruled the world.” Tee hee. Tee hee.
